VandlGuard™ - Simplified Application Instructions
Treat as a normal paint application with regards to surface prep; ensure surface is free of dirt, grime,
release agents, cracks and defects (refer to data sheet for more detailed information).
If surface is untreated use MicroSeal as a primer for VandlGuard.
It is important to build the VandlGuard coating in a cross-hatch pattern therefore the below instructions need to be followed:
- Spray on using high volume low pressure spray equipment (pressure not to exceed 60 psi)
in a fine mist cross hatched pattern first. Knapsack sprayer
- Tip size 015 to .021
- On the first coat, spray the first pass as a fine mist - ideally give it 30 minutes before going over with a second pass.
Spraying this fine mist will provide an excellent adhesion base for the subsequent passes and coats.
- There will be some run off on the first pass but this will be minimal in the subsequent passes. Coating will look and feel like PVA glue on the substrate.
This will dry back to a very low sheen and will hardly be noticeable on the substrate once dry (1-2 hours).
- After these first 2-3 passes (cross hatch pattern) wait 2 hours and then apply
the second coat (same spread rate) - this coat may need a couple of passes also.
- It is critical that all the product is applied in the correct quantities as per the data sheet.
The standard spread rate is 5m2 per litre but check the data sheet and line it up with the substrate you are applying it to.
- Overapplying will not cause any harm - undeapplying will. The coating simply won't be effective
- It will be 6 days before the product is cured
